Industrials, Terriers Play 11 to Settle Game 2, Pittsburgh Now Leads Series 2-0
With center fielder Curt Holland leading the charge, the Pittsburgh Industrials got past the Boston Terriers, 7-6, in extra innings in Game 2 of the World Series today. Holland went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times at Atlantic Avenue Grounds as Pittsburgh managed to take to a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Gus Snyder to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Industrials on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.

"I like our moxie," said Industrials manager Vincent Wicker.

The next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17th, 1950 at Allegheny Field. Slated to start are Bob Griffin for Boston and Willard Quattlebaum for Pittsburgh.
