Ramsey, Drop Game 3 to Quakers

Already down in the League
Championship Series, the Philadelphia
Quakers put on their best show, beating the Chicago
Traders by a final score of 8-5 today. Toby
Ramsey earned player of the game honors, as he
went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while
scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Philadelphia now
trails Chicago 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Alan Weston,
who led the NBL in wins above replacement with 7.0
in 1949, chipped in for Philadelphia with a 3-run
home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game,
the third baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1
home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the
next one," said Weston.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Penn's Landing
Park. Slated to start are Eduardo
Rodriguez for Chicago and Alex
Geary for Philadelphia.
