Seattle Wins at Home to
Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
|
Hank
Tobey was not ready to let the League
Championship Series end.
With the Seattle
Emeralds backed into a corner, the
right-handed Tobey held off the Boston
Terriers. He took player of the game honors
after he threw 9 innings of 7-hit ball. The win cuts
the series deficit for the Emeralds to 3-2 in the
best-of-7 series.
In the bottom of the sixth, Seattle right fielder Mike
Przybyla had a productive at-bat. With the
bases loaded and one out, Przybyla stroked a 2-run
single to right. It made the score 5-2, Seattle. For
the game, he went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and
a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
"I like our mindset right now," said Seattle manager
Mark Velez.
Game 6 is set to be played Tuesday, October 9th,
1951 at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Slated to start are
Richard
McCarthy for the Seattle Emeralds and John
Manders for the the Boston Terriers.
