Terriers Prevail, as
League Championship Series Goes to the Wire
|
In a series that had a little
bit of everything, the Boston
Terriers have edged the Seattle
Emeralds.
The two rival clubs went the distance in the
tightly-contested League Championship Series, with a
7-1 win in the clincher being the difference for
Boston and giving them the ticket to the World
Series with a 4-3 series triumph.
"We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push
came to shove we were going to get it done," said Roy
McDonald, who was named series MVP.
For the series, McDonald
hit .424 with a .441 on-base percentage. He had 1
home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Boston Terriers
don't know who they will face in the next round.
They will play the winner of the Philadelphia
Quakers - Chicago
Traders series. That series is tied at 3 games
apiece. The World Series schedule will be announced
after the League Championship Series finishes.
