Pobladores Even With Lords
After Walk-Off Win

The Los
Angeles Pobladores got a strong game from
starter Kirk
Abalon, but it was some clutch hitting that
ultimately delivered the win.
The Pobladores took the 4-3 win over the Baltimore
Lords in Game 4 of the League Championship
Series in a 9th inning walk-off today. The win
capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Abalon,
who was named player of the game. Abalon threw 7
innings allowing 3 runs in the win, which brought
the Pobladores into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7
series.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth
inning, when Los Angeles third baseman Bill
Fulton, facing Bob
Pavey, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the
Pobladores the 4-3 win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Baltimore
skipper Jordan Wells.
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at San Vicente
Park. Slated to start are Gomer
Cooper for the Baltimore Lords and Jim
Meier for the the Los Angeles Pobladores.
