League Championship Series Game 1 Victory for Amison and Chicago
The Chicago Traders started the League Championship Series in style today, downing the visiting Brooklyn Bluebirds at Union Field by a score of 5-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Traders right-hander Ken Amison threw 9 innings of 6-hit ball.

Lou Wilson, who finished 4th in the NBL in slugging percentage with .625 in 1950, came through for Chicago with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 RBI.

Wilson said his team "played with focus."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Union Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Gene Lance for Brooklyn and Jay Crain for Chicago.
