Terriers Hammered by
Miller, Drop Game 6 to Traders
|
The Chicago
Traders and the Boston
Terriers will take the World Series to a
decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today,
the Traders beat the Terriers 5-4 at Union Field to
force the series into what will essentially be a
one-game playoff. Chicago second baseman Bob
Miller was 2 for 3 with a home run, while
adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
The outcome might have been different had it not
been for Miller. In the bottom of the seventh
inning, when the Traders were trailing 3-1, Miller
delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Chicago,
giving his team the lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are
the kind of games you have to win," said Chicago
manager Winston Tinker.
Game 7 is set to be played tomorrow at Union Field.
Slated to start are Bob
Griffin for the Boston Terriers and Joe
Shannon for the the Chicago Traders.
