Griffin, Hawks Wallop
Empires in Game 4 of LCS |
At 37, Jim
Griffin knows he may not have many playoff
appearances left, so he was determined to make it
memorable. Mission accomplished.
The Chicago Hawks
left fielder hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and
drove in 2 to help his club get past the New
York Empires, 7-0, in Game 4 of the League
Championship Series at Hyde Park Stadium today. With
the win, Chicago moves into a 2-2 tie in the
best-of-7 series.
In the top of the sixth, New York were in rally
mode. The score was 3-0, Chicago, with one out and
runners on 1st and 3rd. But on a full count pitch,
Virgil Donovan popped out.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hyde
Park Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game
are Gary
Clarke for the New York Empires and Jose
Saucedo for the the Chicago Hawks.
