Saucedo Handcuffs Empires,
Hawks Seize 3-2 Advantage in LCS
|
In a pivotal Game 5, the Chicago
Hawks were hoping for a big game from starter
Jose Saucedo.
They got one.
The left-hander shut out the New
York Empires, proving to be the
difference-maker as he led his club to a 4-0
victory. The Hawks took the 4-0 win over the New
York Empires to seize a 3-2 lead in the
best-of-7 series.
Saucedo pitched a complete game for Chicago. The
26-year-old left-hander was charged with no runs on
3 hits. He struck out 9 during his 120-pitch
performance.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Saucedo.
The next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October
12th, 1954 at Queens Field. The scheduled starters
for the game are Dean
Pepper for Chicago and Gary
Clarke for New York.
