League Championship Series
Game 1 Victory for Hathaway and Seattle
|
The Seattle
Emeralds powered past the visiting New
York Empires, 3-2, in the opener of the League
Championship Series at Puget Field today. Seattle
starting pitcher Chuck
Hathaway threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball, to
lead the charge. The Emeralds now lead the series
1-0.
Kevin Pafford
aided the Seattle cause with a run-scoring ground
out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the
left fielder drove in one run.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said
Hathaway.
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Puget Field.
The scheduled starters for the game are Lew
Johnson for the New York Empires and Hank
Tobey for the the Seattle Emeralds.
