Already down in the World Series, the New York Empires put on their best show, beating the New York Knickerbockers by a final score of 1-0 today. John Ambrose was special. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball. New York now trails New York 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

Jerry Durian helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Empires.

"I just try to be a dog, have good swings, good at-bats," said Durian.
