Bobcats Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The Cleveland Bobcats got a strong performance from pitcher Skip Shannon, who stymied the visiting Chicago Traders en route to a win, 8-2, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. The Traders could never get a bead on the right-handed Shannon, who threw 9 innings of 6-hit ball. The Bobcats now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Harold Batkin barreled up a cutter from Ben McHargue. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Bobcats in front, 6-2.

"We are one step closer to our ultimate goal of bringing a title back to the people of Cleveland," Shannon said after the game.

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday. The scheduled starters for the game are Van Ciardullo for Cleveland and Eduardo Rodriguez for Chicago.
