Chicago Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-1
The Chicago Traders have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Cleveland Bobcats, winning 6-4 at Union Field today. Traders right-hander Ken Amison threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Traders to 3-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Jesus Luna came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cleveland pitcher Van Ciardullo, he hit a 2-1 cutter for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 6-4.

"We lost," Cleveland manager Daniel Mays said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Union Field in Chicago. The scheduled starters for the game are Don Young for Cleveland and Ben McHargue for Chicago.
