Bobcats Hammered by Osborn, Fall Further Behind in WS
He may not do it as often as in his glory days, but Harry Osborn showed today that he can still put on a show.

The 34-year-old San Francisco third baseman blasted the Cleveland Bobcats pitching staff in Game 2 of the World Series at Mission Field today, helping the Seagulls move one game closer to a World Series appearance. Osborn was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 as the Seagulls took the 10-9 win. With it, San Francisco holds a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Randy Paterson hit a bases-clearing triple off Don Young in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Seagulls in front, 4-1. Paterson had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 5.

"It's on me," said Bobcats manager Daniel Mays. "The guys I sent out there today were the wrong ones for the situation. I'll be sure to send the right ones out next time."

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday, October 14th, 1956 in Cleveland. The scheduled starters for the game are Joe Shannon for San Francisco and Don Young for Cleveland.
