Empires Hammered by Plancarte, Fall Further Behind in LCS
Riding the 2-hit performance of first baseman Ricky Plancarte, the San Francisco Seagulls stopped the visiting New York Empires, 5-4, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. Plancarte was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Seagulls, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

Plancarte turned the game around in the bottom of the eighth. That's when the San Francisco first baseman dialed up a 3-run home run. Just like that, San Francisco's 4-2 deficit turned into a 5-4 lead.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Plancarte.

Game 3 is set to be played Friday. The scheduled starters for the game are Ray Hayes for San Francisco and Bob Ott for New York.
