Raucous Queens Field Crowd
Propels Empires to 4-1 Victory; Series Tied at 2

The New
York Empires topped the San
Francisco Seagulls by the score of 4-1 and
moved into a 2-2 tie in the League Championship
Series today. The largest share of the credit
belongs to New York starter Gary
Clarke, who threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball in
the win.
Clarke, who was born in Commerce, Georgia, threw 111
pitches over 8.1 innings, while allowing 1 run.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said New York
manager Philipe Yazzie.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Queens
Field in New York. The scheduled starters for the
game are Marvin
Cooper for San Francisco and Percell
Russell for New York.
