San Francisco Takes League Championship Series
San Francisco first baseman Ricky Plancarte couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the League Championship Series.

"It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Plancarte moments after his club eliminated the New York Empires to advance to the World Series.

San Francisco won the final game by a score of 3-2 at Mission Field and took the series 4-2.

"We won the series and that's the main thing," Plancarte said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted."

For the series, Plancarte hit .286 with a .318 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.

"He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected New York manager Philipe Yazzie.

The San Francisco Seagulls will play against the Cleveland Bobcats in the next round. Cleveland won their series against the Chicago Traders 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
