Seagulls Hammered by Seals, Drop Game 3 to Bobcats
The Cleveland Bobcats have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading San Francisco Seagulls, winning 14-3 at Lakefront Stadium today. Bobcats third baseman Rod Seals went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Bobcats to 2-1 in the best-of-7 World Series.

Stan Patterson, who finished 4th in the NBL in extra base hits with 68 in 1956, aided the Cleveland cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3.

"Odds are I won't have another 6-RBI game in the playoffs ever again," Seals said later. "So I'm going to savor this."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lakefront Stadium in Cleveland. The scheduled starters for the game are Marvin Cooper for the San Francisco Seagulls and Van Ciardullo for the the Cleveland Bobcats.
