Home Loss Shrinks Wranglers' Series Lead to 2-1
The New York Knickerbockers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Dallas Wranglers, winning 4-1 at Bluff Park today. Knickerbockers left-hander Doug Leonard threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Knickerbockers to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Leonard gave New York a solid start. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 9 innings.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said New York skipper William Bowen.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Bluff Park in Dallas. The scheduled starters for the game are Herb Hinton for New York and Mike Myers for Dallas.
