Pobladores Even With Hurons After Extra-Innings Win
In a crucial game, the Los Angeles Pobladores put on their best show, beating the Toronto Hurons by a final score of 7-5 today. Charlie Steinberg went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles and Toronto are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.

Los Angeles used the clutch hitting of Hamilton Craft to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pobladores ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Craft told the Los Angeles Herald. "But we take nothing for granted."

The next game is scheduled for Friday, October 11th, 1957. Slated to start are Jerome Comeau for the Toronto Hurons and Tony Williams for the the Los Angeles Pobladores.
