Los Angeles Takes League
Championship Series |
Royce
Ingram said he didn't even realize how well he
had been playing in the League Championship Series
until he was shown his own statistics.
The Los Angeles
Pobladores catcher put up a .333 average with
4 home runs, 8 RBI and 6 runs scored, enough to earn
him series MVP honors. It all added up to his
Pobladores advancing to the World Series, with a 4-2
series win over the Toronto
Hurons.
"I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my
stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just
so focused on trying to help the team win, that's
it."
The series victory had become official with a 7-0
triumph at Toronto Park. Even if Ingram is not
paying close attention to his stats, the rest of
baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as
the playoffs continue.
"I like to be under pressure and think I respond
well to it," he said.
The Los Angeles
Pobladores don't know who they will face in
the next round. They will play the winner of the Dallas
Wranglers - New
York Knickerbockers series. Dallas leads the
series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will
be announced after the League Championship Series
finishes. |
