Host Wranglers Drop
Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
|
The Los
Angeles Pobladores faced a tough opponent in Dallas
Wranglers pitcher Jose
Juarez, but did just enough to pull out a win
in Game 5 of the World Series, which they now lead
3-2. The Pobladores won 7-3 at Bluff Park, despite
the Wranglers getting a strong start from
right-hander Juarez, who went 7 innings and allowed
1 run.
Bill Fulton,
the 27-year old third baseman , had a direct impact
on the outcome. Fulton contributed a 3-run home run
in the top of the first inning to put Los Angeles
up, 5-0.
Fulton said afterward that his team has grown over
the course of the season, adding: "It feels good
when a plan comes together."
Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday, October 24th, 1957
in Los Angeles. Slated to start are Jimmie
Johnson for Dallas and Tony
Williams for Los Angeles.
