Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Hurons, 10-9
The Toronto Hurons needed some late heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the World Series today. The Hurons needed 10 innings before taking the 10-9 win against the San Francisco Seagulls in a walk-off at Dominion Field. Toronto center fielder Bobby Douglas was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Hurons a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Toronto third baseman Joe Rafferty, facing Fred Bridges, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Hurons the 10-9 win.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Hurons manager Jim Burns. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Mission Field in San Francisco.
