Seidel Blasts Hurons,
Seagulls Take Game 6, 6-3 |
The San
Francisco Seagulls and the Toronto
Hurons will take the League Championship
Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win
situation today, the Seagulls beat the Hurons 6-3 at
Mission Field to force the series into what will
essentially be a one-game playoff. San Francisco
pinch hitter Joe
Seidel was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3
RBI and scoring once.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the
sixth when Seidel, who led the NBL in OPS with .995
in 1949, hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the
Seagulls into the lead, 6-3.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Seidel. "But there's
more we hope to accomplish."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at
Mission Field in San Francisco.
