Packers, Quakers Play 12
to Settle Game 3, Cincinnati Now Leads Series 2-1
|
When the games really matter,
the Cincinnati
Packers put on their best show, beating the Philadelphia
Quakers by a final score of 4-3 today. Ralph
King was 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a
walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.
Cincinnati now leads Philadelphia 2-1 in the
best-of-7 affair.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th
inning, when Cincinnati catcher Ken
Panico, facing Dick
Reddish, had a run-scoring single. It gave the
Packers the 4-3 win.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Panico. "I
like it."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Roman
Arena in Cincinnati.
