Host Packers Drop Pivotal
Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
|
In a pivotal Game 5, the Philadelphia
Quakers were hoping for a big game from
starter Bill
Malcuit. They got one.
The left-hander shut out the Cincinnati
Packers, proving to be the difference-maker as
he led his club to a 2-0 victory. The Quakers took
the 2-0 win over the Cincinnati
Packers to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7
series.
Malcuit went the distance for Philadelphia. He
allowed no runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and
walking 0.
"We had a good game plan," Malcuit said, "and we
were able to execute it."
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday,
October 11th , 1960 at Quakers Stadium in
Philadelphia.
