Wiley Handcuffs Seagulls,
Quakers Seize 3-1 Advantage in WS
|
The Philadelphia
Quakers got an exceptional performance from
starter Paul
Wiley, who silenced the San
Francisco offense en route to a 4-0 shutout
win in Game 4 of the World Series today. The
Seagulls could never get a bead on the right-handed
Wiley, who threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. The
Quakers now hold a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7
series.
Wiley went the distance for Philadelphia. He allowed
no runs on 8 hits, while striking out 11 and walking
3.
"I'm proud to wear a Philadelphia jersey," Wiley
told the Philadelphia News. "We played a good game
and came out with the win. What more can you ask
for?"
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at
Quakers Stadium in Philadelphia.
