Bulls Edge Bobcats 5-4 to Open LCS
|
The Kansas City Bulls powered past the hometown Cleveland Bobcats, 5-4, in the opener of the League Championship Series at Lakefront Stadium today. Kansas City starting pitcher Charlie Hickman threw 7.0 innings allowing 4 runs, to lead the charge. The Bulls now lead the series 1-0.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Eddie Tobin to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bulls on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Kansas City manager DD Martin.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lakefront Stadium in Cleveland.
