Toronto Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Toronto Hurons have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Chicago Hawks, winning 6-1 at Dominion Field today. Hurons right-hander Vern Gould threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Hurons to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Gould, the Toronto right-hander, went 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits. He collected 6 strikeouts.

"We were a little off-kilter to start the series, but we're getting things figured out now," Toronto manager Jim Burns told reporters. "At least I hope we are."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dominion Field in Toronto.
