In a pivotal Game 5, the Chicago Hawks were hoping for a big game from starter Bobby Peters. They got one.

The left-hander shut out the Toronto Hurons, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 2-0 victory. The Hawks took the 2-0 win over the Toronto Hurons to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Peters pitched a complete game for Chicago. The left-hander was charged with no runs on 2 hits. He struck out 3 during his 99-pitch performance.

"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Chicago manager Mike Flaherty told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the League Championship Series, it's only going to get harder."
