Toronto Win to Pull Even With Chicago
|
The Toronto Hurons and the Chicago Hawks will take the League Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the Hurons shut out the Hawks 5-0 at Hyde Park Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Toronto left-hander Ben Immel did his part. He threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball.
Immel pitched a complete game for Toronto. The 29-year-old left-hander was charged with no runs on 4 hits. He struck out 8 during his 117-pitch performance.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Immel told the Toronto Bulletin.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hyde Park Stadium in Chicago.
