Hawks Prevail, as League Championship Series Goes to the Wire
|
Major League Baseball pundits who figured the League Championship Series between the Chicago Hawks and Boston Terriers would go the distance were right on the mark.
The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Chicago coming out on top thanks to a 4-3 win in the deciding game at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, to wrap things up 4-3.
"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Hawks right fielder Stan Patterson, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Patterson had 13 hits for a .382 average. He had 4 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Chicago Hawks will play against the Kansas City Bulls in the next round. Kansas City won their series against the Cleveland Bobcats 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
