Bulls Clip Hawks 3-2 in WS Contest
|
Handed an opportunity to take a commanding lead in the World Series, the Chicago Hawks could not close the deal.
Game 4 went into extra frames and the Kansas City Bulls emerged victorious, taking a 11-inning, 3-2 win. Kansas City starting pitcher Charlie Hickman threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball in the win at Hyde Park Stadium today to drag the Bulls back to parity. The clubs are now tied 2-2 in the best-of-7 series.
Kansas City used the clutch hitting of Grammercy Locke to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Bulls ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
After the game, Kansas City manager DD Martin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hyde Park Stadium in Chicago.
