Garrison, Hawks Sink Empires Again in Game 3
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Matt Garrison, the Chicago Hawks got a road win against the New York Empires, 7-3, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. Garrison was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Hawks, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.
Jerry Bischoff, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bischoff contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Chicago up, 1-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Garrison. "And not try to do too much."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Queens Field in New York.
