Hatton, Terriers Come Up Short in Bid for Road Win; Wranglers Take 1-0 Series Lead
When the games really matter, the Dallas Wranglers put on their best show, beating the Boston Terriers by a final score of 6-5 today. Don Hatton was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Dallas now leads Boston 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Dallas shortstop John Darnell, facing Rich Golden, had a run-scoring double. It gave the Wranglers the 6-5 win.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Darnell said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bluff Park in Dallas.
