The Kansas City Bulls got a great start from 34-year-old right-hander Bernie Underwood, as Kansas City won the contest, 6-1, at Lakefront Stadium. Underwood threw 7.2 innings of 1-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Kansas City to grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

In his 119-pitch effort, Underwood allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 7.2 innings. He walked 3 and struck out 7.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Underwood said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lakefront Stadium in Cleveland.
