Pittsburgh Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in DS
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials got an exceptional performance from starter Dennis Jackson, who silenced the New York offense en route to a 7-0 shutout win in Game 3 of the Divisional Series today. The Knickerbockers could never get a bead on the right-handed Jackson, who threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. The Industrials now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Jackson, who was born in Metairie, Louisiana, threw 115 pitches over 9 innings, while allowing no runs.
"Dennis was throwing strikes, locating well," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Allegheny Field in Pittsburgh.
