Almost There: Brooklyn On Cusp of DS Triumph After 1-0 Win
When he got to Brooklyn, Jorge Sandoval was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Divisional Series.

The 23-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting St. Louis Explorers 1-0 in a remarkable performance at Flatbush Park today. With the win, the Bluebirds took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Sandoval pitched a complete game for Brooklyn. The 23-year-old right-hander was charged with no runs on 5 hits. He struck out 3 during his 92-pitch performance.

"Nice, tidy little win," Sandoval said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Flatbush Park in Brooklyn.
