Knickerbockers Advance to World Series
|
The New York Knickerbockers appear confident and poised as they head off to the World Series, after eliminating the Brooklyn Bluebirds by a series score of 4-2 in the League Championship Series.
"Things are clicking, it feels like this could be our year," said New York pitcher Dave Torre, who was named series MVP. "You hate to use the word destiny, but it feels special."
The Knickerbockers won the final game by a 4-1 count at Knickerbocker Stadium to wrap up the series.
For the series, Torre had a 0.00 ERA over 14.2 innings pitched. He added 7 strikeouts with a 2-0 record.
The New York Knickerbockers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Detroit Wolverines - Dallas Wranglers series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
