Rafferty Blasts Knickerbockers, Wranglers Take Game 5, 7-3
|
The Dallas Wranglers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading New York Knickerbockers, winning 7-3 at Knickerbocker Stadium today. Wranglers shortstop Joe Rafferty was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Wranglers to 3-2 in the best-of-7 World Series.
In the top of the first of a scoreless game, Rafferty hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at Bluff Park in Dallas.
