Almost There: Chicago On Cusp of DR Triumph After 4-0 Win
|
The Chicago Traders got a strong performance from pitcher Skip Crawford, who stymied the New York offense en route to a 4-0 win in Game 4 of the Divisional Round. The Knickerbockers could never get a bead on the left-handed Crawford, who threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The Traders now hold a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Bobby Richter had a direct impact on the outcome. Richter contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Chicago up, 2-0.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Crawford.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Knickerbocker Stadium in New York.
