The Detroit Wolverines defeated the Montreal Habitants, 8-4, in Game 4 of the League Championship Series. Making an impact was first baseman Duane Simmons, who went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win moves Detroit into a 2-2 tie with Montreal in the series.

Emil Wathen, who finished 4th in the ABL in on-base percentage with .368 last year, helped out the Detroit cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Detroit manager Alex Wobbema said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at LaSalle Stadium in Montreal.
