Captains Top Quakers, 15-2, to Begin LCS

The San Diego Captains started the League Championship Series in dominant fashion, blowing out the host Philadelphia Quakers at Quakers Stadium by a score of 15-2 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Captains left fielder Randy Barnes was 4 for 6 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
Don Hughes broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the third with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Captains in front, 2-1. For the game, Hughes was 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
"We've hit a lull," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Quakers Stadium in Philadelphia.
