Philadelphia Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in DR
The Philadelphia Quakers got a strong performance from pitcher Manny Salinas, who stymied the visiting Denver Burros en route to a win, 5-3, in Game 3 of the Divisional Round. The Burros could never get a bead on the right-handed Salinas, who threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The Quakers now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Jeff Murchison, who finished 3rd in the NBL in slugging percentage with .604 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Philadelphia in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

"Manny just settled in and did what he does," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Quakers Stadium in Philadelphia.
