The San Diego Captains got a complete game effort from starter Ray Heath to move into a 1-1 tie with the Dallas Wranglers in the best-of-7 World Series.

The San Diego right-hander went the distance at Bluff Park, cooling off the Dallas Wranglers and striking out 7 to help San Diego take the 2-0 win that knotted the series.

Heath, a native of Mitchellville, Maryland, was dealing all game. He kept Dallas hitters off-balance, while giving the Captains 9 quality innings. Heath threw 117 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 7.

"Ray throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said San Diego manager Joe Mack.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 19th , 1971 at San Diego Sporting Complex in San Diego.
