Almost There: Dallas On Cusp of LCS Triumph After 3-0 Win
|
The Dallas Wranglers got an exceptional performance from starter Ed Payne, who silenced the Detroit offense en route to a 3-0 shutout win in Game 4 of the League Championship Series. The Wolverines could never get a bead on the left-handed Payne, who threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. The Wranglers now hold a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Payne, the Dallas left-hander, went 9 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits. He collected 5 strikeouts.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Detroit manager Alex Wobbema.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bluff Park in Dallas.
