The Los Angeles Pobladores have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Detroit Wolverines, winning, 5-4, at San Vicente Park. Pobladores left-hander Phil Lester threw 8.2 innings of 6-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Pobladores to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Round.

With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Chuck Gunter barreled up a curveball from Jim Bryant. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Pobladores in front, 5-0.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Gunter said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at San Vicente Park in Los Angeles.
