Almost There: San Diego On Cusp of LCS Triumph After 14-0 Win
The San Diego Captains did not need a superhuman effort from starter Ray Heath, not with their offense scoring runs at will. They got one, regardless, as the right-hander shut out the Denver Burros in the 14-0 Captains win. Heath threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball as San Diego took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Heath gave San Diego a first-rate performance. The 6-foot-0 right-hander permitted no runs on 3 hits over 8 innings of work.

"I like our moxie," said Captains manager Joe Mack.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at San Diego Sporting Complex in San Diego.
