Wolverines Clip Empires, 8-7, in DR Contest
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Eddie Estrada, the Detroit Wolverines stopped the visiting New York Empires, 8-7, in Game 3 of the Divisional Round. Estrada was 3-4 with 3 singles for the Wolverines, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

Detroit took the lead, 7-4, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, left fielder Booker Lee hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Detroit manager Alex Wobbema said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Wolverine Field in Detroit.
