Captains Clip Industrials, 3-2, in LCS Contest
|
The San Diego Captains defeated the Pittsburgh Industrials, 3-2, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series. Making an impact was third baseman Tom Row, who went 3-3 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI. The win moves San Diego into a 1-1 tie with Pittsburgh in the series.
With the game tied, 1-1, in the top of the sixth, Row had a key at-bat for San Diego. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Row hit a 2-run double off Frank Combs, making the score 3-1, Captains.
"We busted our tails," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker. "But we came up short."
The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 14th , 1974 at San Diego Sporting Complex in San Diego.
